How does the TrainGuard risk score work?
TrainGuard analyses the risk of train delay by combining 7 real-time factors: track works, strikes, congestion, weather, operator punctuality, technical faults and recent trends. The score ranges from 0 to 100: below 15 is low risk, 15-34 is medium, 35+ is high.
Which trains can I check?
TrainGuard supports Italian trains: Frecciarossa, Frecciargento, Italo, Intercity, Regionali Veloci and Regionali. Just enter the train number to get the analysis.
Is the service free?
TrainGuard is completely free and requires no registration. Enter your train number, pick a date and get your result in 2 seconds. You can also set up free email alerts.
How are the 7 risk factors calculated?
The algorithm assigns a different weight to each factor: track works (20%), weather (18%), operator punctuality (17%), strikes (15%), congestion (12%), technical faults (10%), trend (8%). Data comes from institutional sources such as Viaggiatreno, RFI, OpenMeteo and MIT.
Can I get an alert if the risk changes?
Yes, after analysing your train you can enter your email to receive a free alert. We will notify you if the risk score changes significantly. You can cancel the alert at any time.
Is the data reliable?
TrainGuard uses data from institutional and public sources: Viaggiatreno for train history, RFI for track works, OpenMeteo for weather, MIT for punctuality statistics. The risk score is an indicative estimate and does not replace official operator communications.
Is my email used for marketing?
